Alongside the decorative islands of flowers, shrubs and trees as well as lush lawns and native plant life that beautify the campus and add relaxing natural greens and splashes of bright colors, the 30 acre campus boasts a photovoltaic system which distributes its solar energy for use on campus, solar lighting and irrigation systems using collected waste water.The construction of the landscape itself also used sustainable equipment to reduce pollution and damage to the environment and students are educated in the importance of maintaining a healthy natural world on campus and in their maritime studies.
