The combined cycle power plant is OMV’s first and is a testament to engineering due to the complex process it involves to create electricity. OMV takes sustainability very seriously and it was important for them to have a well landscaped site, as can be seen by the large areas of greenery including grasses, trees and also a small pond lined with reeds and shrubs. Considering the process of creating electricity from the mechanical power generated by a heat source, there can be a lot of consumption of resources in the process of creating such a structure as well as maintaining it, so a well designed landscape that includes plants that take in high quantities of CO2 is essential to minimize the effects on the environment.
